repSL Engine

repSL Engine is the module responsible for the reports production.
Once a template and the relative .rsl script have been created, you can use RunTime of repSL Engine to run your script and generate your report documents, without enter the development environment of repSL Developer.

  SIMPLE USAGE
   LOW SW/HW REQUIREMENTS
You are free to organize .rsl script and template files on Windows Desktop, local or network folders. Moving, collecting and renaming reports is as simple as manage files in your Windows environment.
Every time a report is required you can:
Use RunTime interface to select and run a .rsl script
Double-Click the icon of .rsl file
Let scheduler launch Engine on script automatically.

 
repSL Engine can coexists with any other BI or reporting software.
It is not a Windows service and do not use any system or network resource unless a report has been requested.
Once the document creation is completed, all the local or remote resources are released.


Engine does not require any server class hardware; you can install and run it even on a workstation or laptop PC.
  LAUNCH ENGINE FROM OTHER APPLICATIONS
Engine RunTime can be started by any other Windows application or batch file.
Command-line parameters can be passed to the RunTime and used in the script code, so to control the behaviour of the Engine from other environments.
Such a feature let you add data post-processing and reporting capabilities to any other software not providing it.

  REPORT SCHEDULING
Using operating system scheduler, repSL Engine can automatically create reports, with no need of user presence or intervention.
Whenever required, you can find BI information updated and ready to be analysed!

It is possible to schedule reports with the required frequency: weekly, daily, hourly, … also every minute, or on the occasion of a particular event.
Each execution can be customized basing on the value assigned to the command line parameters.
